God's Word says, "I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign LORD. I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak...I will shepherd the flock with justice." Ezekiel 34:14, 16

We are the people of his pasture - the sheep of His nail marked hands. He laid down His life to wash our sins away. He carries us in His powerful, gentle arms. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He will bring us safely home to Heaven.

The Apostle Paul writes in Romans 10:17, "Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ."

By looking at the many faces in our congregation, we can see how God has worked faith in the hearts of His people here at St. Luke's through His Word, and how he keeps His Word as the center of everything that happens at St. Luke's. May God continue to feed the many lambs of St. Luke's through His powerful and saving Word. To God be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 10:25 says "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

As Christians we all need encouragement. The Bible gives many examples of how we can encourage one another. The writer to the Hebrews urges believers to gather together to be strengthened in our faith and to give strength to others. For this reason God's people go to the Lord's house not just to gain for ourselves but also to give to others. Think of what God gives us every day: his love, his forgiveness, the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ. All these blessings ought to move us to give help and encouragement to one another.
